monkey business

I blogged about fine for feeding monkeys http://cethosia.blogspot.sg/2008/02/monkey-business.html

Here is an update

snack attack

Refreshing drinks bought from a mini-mart in Jurong East. The young coconut juice is a little too sweet. The guava juice is just nice. $0.60 for 1 can and $1.00 for 2 cans. Have not been able to find these in other supermarts.

Nice sesame fragrance, sweetness just right. $3.60 for 100ml.

$6.80 for this packet of veggie chips. Slightly spicy, not too salty. Nice alternative to potato chips.

memories are made of these

shopping at JB - Sutera Mall

Went shopping at Sutera Mall, Johor Bahru, Malaysia with 2 colleagues. It was their second time there but the first for me.

We met at Jurong East bus interchange at 9:30am and boarded the bus within 15 minutes.
bus ticket from Jurong East to Bukit Indah S$4.00
It was a short and smooth journey to 2nd Link at Tuas. After clearing the Customs, we boarded the same bus into JB.

Our bags were subject to X-ray inspection after Customs clearance at JB.

There is a connecting bus to Sutera Mall (need to pay M$4.80) but we missed it and have to wait another hour for the next bus.
So we took the connecting bus to Bukit Indah (no need to pay but must show ticket bought at Jurong East), then took a taxi to Sutera Mall (M$12.00 after negotiation).

Shop and eat, then more shopping and eating.
Found the organic items at the supermarket to be much cheaper than in Singapore.

For the return journey, we took a taxi to Bukit Indah (M$15.00 after negotiation), then a bus to Jurong East.

Clearance at JB was slightly delayed because the Customs officer was double checking the guy queueing in front of me.

After Customs clearance at Tuas, our bags were subject to X-ray inspection.

Overall, it was a nice experience.
