Pipeline Trek

The trek started at 8:30am.

Opposite Marsiling MRT, behind some HDB blocks, the first stretch of water pipes that we need to cross.

Found this nice looking bicycle near a bus-stop in Yishun.
It has pictures on seat, frame and gear guard, and side wheels for better support

Rice dumpling

vegetarian Char Siew and Duck - dice and fry
dried mushroom - soak till soften, dice and fry
Gingko nuts - remove shell and skin, cook with sugar till soften
Lotus seeds - remove the bitter central, cook with sugar till soften

2010 May 29 - Biodiversity Race 2010

We have to go along the Western Adventure Park Connector Network (WAPCN)
1) start at Bukit Batok Nature Park.
2) take team photo at 3 out of the 5 checkpoints along the WAPCN.
3) are allowed to walk or take public transport (buses and trains).
4) observe AT LEAST 10 birds, 5 butterflies, 3 dragonflies and 5 plants. Common names of the flora and fauna species have to be indicated in the Observation Sheet provided. 1 point for each correctly identified specie.
5) take photographs of observations, if possible. 1 point for each photo of correctly identified specie.
6) end at Choa Chu Kang Park.

Arrived at Bukit Batok Nature Park for registration.
After collecting the guide sheets for Birds, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Plants, and route map for event, we discussed on the route to take.

We stayed in Bukit Batok Nature Park for the first hour to do most of the observations, and walked to Bukit Batok Town Park for the first team photo, and the other flora and fauna.

Then we walked to Brickland Road for 2 more team photos before taking a bus to Choa Chu Kang bus interchange, and finally walked to Choa Chu Kang Park.
